Jammu: Governor N.N. Vohra has greeted people on the occasion of the 8th National Voters’ Day which is being celebrated on 25th January with the theme of “Accessible Elections”.

In his message, Governor observed that the celebration of the Voters’ Day is a reminder to all eligible voters about their responsibility to participate in the electoral process and thereby to strengthen the democratic framework. He noted that it is gratifying to learn that this year the State has added an all-time high 3.3 lakh eligible voters, against an average of about 2 lakh per year in the past, and hoped that the new voters shall duly exercise their vote in the coming elections.

Adding that the online process is now available for enrolment of voters, Governor has appealed to all eligible citizens to step forward and get enrolled to exercise their franchise.

Governor has urged that occasion of the National Voters’ Day should be used to particularly facilitate the “Millennium Voters” that is those born on 1-1-2000 and observed that the emergence of electoral literacy clubs in schools, colleges and communities will further strengthen our democracy.
