Jammu: Senior National Conference leader and MLA Khanyar here on Tuesday said attempts to saffronise educations are a threat to the country and impressed upon Education Minister Altaf Bukhari to resist the central government’s moves to change the syllabus the way GST was implemented and exrended to Jammu & Kashmir with the overt and covert support of Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu.
Taking part in the debate on notion of grants for the education department Sagar said “attempts are being made to change the syllabus in schools and changing names of universities and other institutions which are named after Muslim leaders”.
He alleged that the incumbent Modi government at the centre tends to omit out chapters of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru the first Prime Minister and the architect of modern India from school text books.
Sagar also alleged that the Kashmir University, which was the highest seat of learning, has become a centre for rehabilitation of relatives.”If you check the records, people at the helm of affairs have accommodated their relatives,” Sagar lamented
