Baramulla: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash Monday flagged off a team of 42 farmers for an interstate exposure tour.
The program, organized by Agriculture Department under ATMA scheme, intends to impart necessary agricultural training among farmers and to educate them with the new and modern methodologies in the farming sector.
Chief Agriculture Officer and various other officers were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized upon the farmers to avail benefits of the program so that the overall production and productivity is enhanced. He stressed for adopting such measures besides educating other farmers about their benefits.
Terming agriculture as a backbone of the economy, the DC said that the government is committed to the welfare of farmers for which various initiatives and measures are afoot.
