Speed up electrification of un-electrified villages: Asiea

Srinagar:  Minster of State for Power Development Department and Health & Medical Education, Asiea Naqash Saturday called upon the functionaries of PDD and other executing agencies to take concert measure for implementing various schemes to avoid inconveniences faced by the people during winters.

The Minister said this while chairing a high-level meeting of officers to review the status of various works under Electric Maintenance & Rural Electrification Wing (EM&RE).

It was given out around 250 units of energy is being supplied in the valley and electricity is supplied to metered and non metered areas strictly as per the already notified schedule.

On the occasion, the Minister sought details regarding the various projects including REC scheme, Restructured Accelerated Power Development & Reforms (RAPDRP), Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS), Deen Dhayal Upaday Grameen Jyoti Yogna (DDUGJY) and Prime Minister Development Plan (PMDP).

It was given out in the meeting that the process of electrifying of un-electrified villages of Kupwara  and Bandipora  is in full swing and distribution work as well as 33 KV and 33/11 kV lines receiving stations is in progress.                                                         

The Minister directed speeding up the process of electrifying un-electrified villages before 31st December 2018 as described in central sponsored ‘Saubhagya’ Scheme, besides completing pending works of installing Under Ground lines at tourist destinations including Gulmarg, Pahalagm and Sonamarg.

She directed the concerned for submitting Detailed Project Reports (DPR) regarding the uplifting of receiving stations at Dalina Baramulla, Alastang and Budgam.

The Minister directed speeding up the execution process of all the ongoing projects undertaken under various schemes. She said strengthening and augmenting the power infra in the valley is necessary and should be completed at an earliest.

Asiea also sought details about the installation of new transformers in various localities and status of repairing of damaged transformers across the valley.

Commissioner Secretary PDD Hirdesh Kumar, Development Commissioner Power, Secretary Technical PDD, Chief Engineer EM&RE Kashmir, SEs and Executive Engineers of various wings of PDD, other concerned senior officers and representatives of executing agencies attended the meeting.
