Srinagar: In its endeavour to strengthen police-public relations and to promote sports activities among the youth, Jammu and Kashmir Police is organizing sports events under Civic Action Program in the valley. Three sports events were organized in South Kashmir’s Kokernag area, Sopore and Srinagar, Friday.
In South Kashmir, Police Station Kokernag has organized a sports event under Civic Action Programme at Kokernag. Large number of participants including students and local players participated in different sports activities including volley ball, Tug of War and Carrom.
In North Kashmir, the event was organized by Police Station Tarzoo under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Mashkoor Zargar. Hundreds of youth from Tarzoo, Sopore, Chankhan and adjacent areas participated in various sports activities viz Volleyball, Badminton, Kick-Boxing and Carom on knock-out basis.
In Central Kashmir, Police Station Rajbagh has organized a sports event at Gindun Park in which a number of youth including students of Oasis School, GHSS Jawahar Nagar, Soliha Sublime school and locals participated. The games played during the event includes Badminton, Carrom, Volleyball and basketball.
At the end of these events, the winners were suitably awarded with the medals and trophies.
Moreover, during these sports events, the participants were acquainted with emerging problem of drug menace and were advised to remain away from these sort of social evils and help the police in tackling such menace.
