Srinagar: Leaders and activists of Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on Tuesday held a protest at Jamia Masjid in Downtown Srinagar against human rights abuses and arrests of pro-freedom leadership.
Scores of protesters assembled at the historic mosque in Nowhatta and held a rally. The protesters denounced the “unabated” human rights violations, arrests of resistance leaders by the NIA and ED, turning Downtown into a military garrison, caging resistance leaders and unleashing the “reign of terror” everywhere in Kashmir in the name of cordon-and-search-operations.
JRL is an amalgam of separatist leaders comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik.
