Rural dev, key factor in State’s economic growth: Kavinder

Jammu: Speaker, Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, Tuesday stressed on development of rural pockets as a key factor for growth of State’s economy.

This was stated by the Speaker while addressing a gathering after inaugurating newly macadamized 2 km long road from Police Naka Gadi Garh to village Rohi costing Rs 50 lakh.

Speaker said the government is working with an agenda of equitable development to ensure the welfare of every section of society with special focus on population living in rural areas. He said government  is determined to develop the rural belts  at par with the urban.

Highlighting various development works initiated in the constituency, the Speaker said the promise of development is not merely on papers and one can assess the progressive work done in the rural areas of Gandhi Nagar constituency with the development of areas like khwas khan, Bhatindi, Bermini, Chatha and many more.

Kavinder said the government has laid full focus on development of infrastructure and providing better civic amenities to the people in rural areas with special focus on improving road connectivity. “To fulfil its commitment for equitable development of all sections of the society, the government has launched various flagship programs”, the Speaker maintained.

Kavinder emphasized effective monitoring of rural development schemes launched by the government for the socio-economic development of the rural population.

The Speaker said  that more macadamization works will be taken up to provide better road connectivity to the area.

Later, the Speaker held a public grievances redressal camp at village Rohi where the locals put forth various development issues of the area.

Responding to the demands, the Speaker assured them that all their genuine issues would be looked into on priority and directed the concerned officials to take all necessary measures to address the same at the earliest.

The Speaker sought active public participation in rural developmental programs launched by the government and called for regular public grievances camps to redress the grievances of people in rural pockets.

AEE, PWD(R&B), Manoj Kumar, Tehsildar, Anil Mangotra besides senior officers of concerned departments were present on the occasion.
