Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (BOSE) chairperson Veena Pandita on Thursday said the error in marks sheet of pellet-blinded Insha Mushtaq was rectified, hours after the declaration of class 10th results on Tuesday.
“We have already rectified the error which was shown in her passing of exams. We have corrected her marks sheet as well. We informed her parents about this as well, it didn’t remain unattended,” Pandita said. Interestingly, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had demanded clarification about the 10th class result of pellet victim Insha Mushtaq in the lower house of assembly.
“In newspapers her result was shown successful, while as per JKBOSE result she has been declared pass but need improvement. There is a dire need to revisit the result of Insha as she could not attend Math Paper because of blindness,” he said. Omar sought to consider the marks obtained by her in Music Paper for the Maths paper.
After the declaration of class 10th class on Tuesday the grade-sheet of Insha read “qualified but to improve” and was declared “failing in mathematics.” Meanwhile, Pandita said the enrolment of Insha was done in the early months of her 9th class where she opted for Mathematics.
“But at the later stage she met with the unfortunate incident and used our provision to opt for music instead of Mathematics. But the change in subject was not updated in computer based data,” she said.
