Poonch: Deputy Commissioner, Tariq Ahmad Zargar Friday flagged off a bicycle rally which was organised by (MVD) Motor vehicle department Poonch.
The rally started from DC office Poonch passing through qila bazaar with culmination at dakbunglow, Poonch.
ACR Ashraf Choudhary,ASP Anwarul-Haq, ARTO poonch, Abdul Rahiem Mir, DYSP HQ Poonch Shahid Nahiem besides volunteers from different organisations , media persons and students from different schools participated in the bicycle rally.
The aim of this rally was to educate road users regarding road safety measures to be followed by the road users in particular and public in general.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said ,the main aim of organizing such rallies is to create awareness regarding rules to be followed on roads and also to promote bicycling as an alternative cheap, best and easy transportation mode to improve the health, economic vitality.
He said organizing such programs and rallies on road can develop a passion among all age group of people belonging to different cultures and background as a comfortable and safest choice to increase the number of people who ride bicycle safely.
He added that this also helps to control pollution on the one hand and also reduce traffic jams and congestion.”So one can reached shorter & safe from traffic conjugation,” he further added.
