Jammu: Non Gazetted employees of Civil Secretariat Union Wednesday called on Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCSCA) Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali and apprised him with the demand of ration supply to move employees.
In this regard, the Minister convened a meeting with Commissioner Secretary Food and Civil Supplies, Director Food, Civil Supplies, Additional Secretary Finance and Director Finance GAD besides other concerned officers and held threadbare discussion on the issue.
During the meeting, the Minister directed the concerned officers to supply 15 kg rice, 5 kg Atta to each moving family residing in government accommodations, colonies during the month of January as a short term measure to overcome the problem.
The Minister also asked the Director Finance GAD, Director Finance FACS to work out actual ration requirement of the move employees for the coming months besides projecting the funds for procurement of food grains for all the move employees and submit the same by February, 2018.
The Minister asked the officers to work out a mechanism for supply of ration to these employees for six months in Jammu and in Srinagar as well.
The Minister asked the officers to issue specifically designed ration cards to all move employees in a time bound manner.
The representatives of Secretariat move employees appreciated the initiative of the Minister for taking an immediate action to redress their grievance regarding ration supply.
