Pulwama: People observed a complete shutdown in Tral and Rajpora towns of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district for the third consecutive day against the killing of three militants during an attack on a CRPF camp.
All shops, business establishments, government and private offices remained closed in these areas while public transport remained off the roads.
Three militants and five CRPF soldiers were killed in the 36-hour-long gun battle between militants and government forces after the former attacked CRPF training centre in Lethpora area of Awantipora on Monday.
The deceased militants were identified as Manzoor Ahmad Baba of Drubgam Pulwama, Fardeen Ahmad Khandey of Nazneenpora Tral while the third one remained unidentified.
Reports said that scores of people including some pro-freedom leaders continue to visit the slain militants native villages Drabgam and Nazneenpora village of Tral to offer ‘Fateha’ (prayers).
