Reasi: Legal Metrology Department has booked 33 traders for violation of Jammu and Kashmir Weight and Measures (Enforcement) Act and Rules here at holy town Katra and en route Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji Bhawan.

The conducted inspected various restaurants, eateries, dry fruit shops, parshad shops, gift item shops and others business establishments. Defective material was seized on the spot by the Inspector Legal Metrology, Reasi.
A fine of Rs. 36900 was imposed on the 27 erring traders by Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Reasi Kuldeep Raj.
Further, six erring traders were directed by the inspecting team to produce record related to seized materials before Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Reasi for further legal action warranted under rules.
