Srinagar: National Conference on Saturday said the PDP-BJP Government led by Mehbooba Mufti has been completely paralyzed by rampant corruption and brazen nepotism marked by countless money-for-transfer scams and thousands of backdoor appointments.
Addressing a Provincial Level Meeting of Central Leadership and District Presidents of the Party from Kashmir Province, NC General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar as per the statement issued to KNS condemned the apathy shown by the PDP-BJP Government in addressing pressing and crucial grievances of the people.
“It seems like the State has a Government that exists only on paper. Basic responsibilities of the Administration have become luxuries as the Government remains clueless and utterly insensitive to the hardships being faced by the people. The unprecedented, Government-made Power Crisis is worsening by the day as people in some areas have to spend days if not weeks without electricity. There has been no clarity on power-schedules and the power distribution infrastructure is in shambles. It’s taking the State Government weeks to repair damaged electrical transformers and the new High Voltage Distribution System infrastructure has been hit by extremely poor implementation. Similarly, there is an acute shortage of ration and essential commodities have become unaffordable due to a record-high level of inflation which is almost double that of the average national inflation figure. The common man has been cornered in a ruthless and sadistic manner by a Government that remains deaf and blind”, the NC General Secretary said addressing the meeting.
Addressing the Party Leaders and Office Bearers, National Conference Provincial President, Nasir Aslam Wani said the PDP-BJP Government had wreaked havoc with the State and had pushed it back into an unfortunate phase of turmoil and instability. “All claims of reconciliation are exposed as hollow rhetoric by the actions of the Government on the ground. The harassment of civilians and especially youth hasn’t stopped as crackdowns and mass search operations continue. The PDP-BJP Government has perpetuated an atmosphere of chaos and fear in the State and is responsible for an huge spurt in local boys turning towards the path of violence. The brazen U-Turns made by PDP have created a sense of disenchantment among the youth”, the NC Provincial President said in the meeting.
NC General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar asked the Party Leaders and Office Bearers, including the District Presidents to increase the party’s outreach to those youth who feel disillusioned and isolated and also discussed various public interests issues that the party will highlight in the upcoming Assembly Session. NC Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani asked the Party Office Bearers to remain prepared for any political challenges that may arise and to augment the party’s organizational synergy at all levels.
The Provincial Level Meeting was also attended by NC Central Zone President, MLC Ali Muhammad Dar, Women’s Wing President and MLA Habba Kadal Shameema Firdous, State Spokesperson Junaid Azim Mattu, Provincial Secretary Advocate Showkat Ahmed Mir, YNC Provincial President Salman Ali Sagar, Political Secretary to Working President Tanvir Sadiq, Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency Incharge Mushtaq Ahmed Guroo, District President Srinagar Peer Muhammad Afaq, District President Ganderbal and MLA Ishfaq Jabaar, District President Kulgam and MLA Homshalibug Abdul Majeed Larmi, District President Baramulla Javaid Ahmed Dar, Zonal Vice President North Ghulam Rasool Naz, District President Anantnag Dr. Muhammad Shafi, District President Pulwama Ghulam Mohuiddin Mir, Provincial Secretary Women’s Wing Sabiya Qadri, YNC Provincial Secretary Mudasir Shahmiri, District President Budgam Abdul Ahad Dar besides various senior office bearers and functionaries of the party.
