Words bringing Muftis’, PDP into disrepute

Though PDP founder and two time former Chief Minister late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was known for using words very appropriately and he would never over react to any situation or incident but reverse is the case with his political heirs particularly the PDP President and the incumbent Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and the Minister for tourism Tasaduq Mufti. Needlessly Mehbooba Mufti during summer unrest in 2016 failed to control her emotion in referring to the stone throwing youth during a press conference in presence of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh when she said “ Had the boys killed during public protests at the the encounter sites gone to market to buy toffees and sweet. I have saved the lives of the youth from the blunt knives”. These words of Mehbooba Mufti hurted and humiliated not only those who praise youth for running to encounter sites but also those who ask youth to exercise restraint at control their emotions during the time militants are killed in counters at the encounter sites. Unfortunately Mehbooba Mufti could not control her emotions when some senior journalist posed some questions regarding the strict adherence of the government forces to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) during a presser again in presence of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh as she in an insulting way told the journalist “Waliev Cheyu Chaya Cupa” means ‘Come and have a cup of tea’. Shockingly Tasaduq Mufti’s fumble with the words while taking oath as minister brought him into disrepute as the word he mentioned wrongly concerns the religious emotions of all the muslim both within and outside the state.

While Mehbooba Mufti has failed to deliver in her very first stint as Chief Minister of the state, Tasaduq Mufti has failed to impress the people around him in his first major public appearance in the highest constitutional office of the state popularly called Raj Bhawan which we often call Governor’s house.

Doubtlessly Tasaduq did not utter the word “dog” intentionably and all understand that he mouthed this word mistakably but the one million dollar question is that a young man holding the office of a cabinet minister should not have fumbled with the words while taking the oath from the goverment as he has to address people both within and outside the office and take decisions concerning the future of the state. A man who has fumbled with the words by all standards of understandabilities can committee mistakes in the working of the office he holds. Leaders are obliged to show wisdom and demonstrate patience in addressing the people and participating in public events as people of all shades always try to be their critics. While Mehbooba Mufti has failed to deliver in her very first stint as Chief Minister of the state, Tasaduq Mufti has failed to impress the people around him in his first major public appearance in the highest constitutional office of the state popularly called Raj Bhawan which we often call Governor’s house.
