Srinagar/Dec,30: Landslides Saturday morning hit Srinagar-Jammu highway forcing the authorities to close the road the only surface link connecting Jammu with Kashmir during winter months every year.
The Srinagar-Jammu highway was blocked for traffic after landslides hit the road on Saturday.Only one-way movement of heavy-motor vehicles is being allowed on the highway from Jammu to Kashmir today. However, light-motor vehicles are allowed to ply from both sides.An official said that landslides hit the 300-km highway at Battery Chashma, blocking the movement of traffic.He said that men and machinery have been put into service to clear the road.
