Srinagar: Authorities Wednesday released Muslim League Chairman Mushtaq-ul-Islam.
Mushtaq-ul-Islam was arrested by police some seven months back from the residence of his sister at Tengpora Bypass.
“Court had acquitted him in FIR’s registered against him at police stations Batamaloo, Shaheedgung and Kothibagh in 2013 and 2014,” said a family member.
A Muslim League spokesperson said that the court quashed his detention under PSA on 13 December and directed Government to release him. “He was released Wednesday and reached his home safely,” the spokesperson added.
