Sopore: A joint team of Food Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Revenue, Metrology department, and Traffic Tuesday conducted market checking at various locations of Sopore town to ensure quality edibles and price control besides keeping vigil on erring traders.
During the inspection, the checking team imposed fine on various shopkeepers violating the legal regulations. The team also destroyed contaminated vegetables and spices and realized fine from shopkeepers for not displaying rate list at their shops.
Meanwhile, a special drive against traffic laws violators was also launched during which several vehicles were seized for infringing these regulations. Footpaths were also cleared which were blocked by the street vendors.
