Shopian: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Tuesday flagged-off sheep breeders of the district for a day-long “farm darshan exposure” tour to acquaint them with latest technological interventions in Sheep Husbandry sector.
During the exposure tour, 28 progressive sheep breeders will visit Sheep Farm Kral Pathri Budgam wherein they will be imparted latest know-how of sheep breeding and rearing by experts of the field. The tour is being organized by Sheep Husbandry Department Shopian.
On the occasion, the DDC said such tours will help the breeders to acquaint themselves with the latest technology and practices and asked them to make the best use of the training program. He also said requisite steps are underway to tap the potential of sheep breeding in the district and special focus is being given on generating awareness among youth to motivate them to adopt it as an economic activity.
District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Block Sheep Husbandry Officers, and a number of sheep farmers and members from media fraternity were also present on the occasion.
