Srinagar: The law enforcement authorities decided to enforce restrictions in Srinagar city and put Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq the Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairam immediately after Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) called for protests after Friday prayers against the killing of civilians, especially two women in Shopian and Kupwara.
JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yaisn Malik called for Kashmir-wide protests after congregational Friday prayers tomorrow against the killing of civilians, especially two women who left behind two infants.Mysara Bano and Beauty Jan were killed near gunfight sites in Handwara and Shopian areas respectively during past week.
The district administration Srinagar shortly after the announcement of post Friday prayers by the Joint Resistance leadership decided to impose restrictions today in Srinagar areas falling under the jurisdiction of seven police stations and put Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq under house arrest.In a post on micro blogging social website Twitter, Mirwaiz confirmed the announcement of his house arrest.”Put back under #HouseArrest, was released yesterday evening only,” Mirwaiz tweeted.
An official said that restrictions will be imposed in Srinagar areas falling under the jurisdiction of seven Police Station including Ràinawari, Nowhatta, Khanyar, M.R.Gunj, Safakadal, Maisuma and Kralkhud.They informed that partial restrictions will be imposed in the areas falling under Maisuma and Kral Khud police stations.”The restrictions will be imposed as a precautionary measure,” he said.
