Jammu: Prof. R.R. Sharma, former Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here Tuesday.
Governor discussed with Prof. Sharma several issues relating to the challenges which are presently facing the higher education sector in J&K and the possible steps which could enhance the standard of teaching in the institutions of higher learning and the measures which may be enforced to see that every member of the faculty is engaged in relevant research. Governor observed that the majority of the teachers continued to teach what they had learnt decades back essentially because they had remained uninvolved in research work.
