The two Accountants General briefed Governor about the areas of State Government functioning which have been audited in the recent past for promoting a transparent framework of policy, rules and regulations and encouraging efficiency and accountability in the functioning of the entire administrative apparatus.

Governor discussed with AGs the need for all required steps being taken to secure the maintenance of transparency, financial probity and fiscal discipline in the governmental machinery of J&K State.

Governor informed the Accountants General that on the basis of earlier reports of the CAG, which brought out extremely serious aberrations and deviations from the norm, he had advised the State Government to constitute a High Level Committee of Senior Officers to ensure time bound further action and implementation of the CAG’s Reports. He has been writing to Chief Minister in this regard and hoped that all necessary action shall be taken.
