Zulfkar inaugurates Rs 2.25 cr Bagh-Chitti Batti road

Rajouri: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs,  and Tribal Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali Monday inaugurated 3.5 KM Bagh-ChittiBatti road which has been completed at a cost of Rs. 2.25 crore.

The Minister also convened a grievances redressal camp at Darhal as part of  his public outreach initiative in the region.

During the camp, the Minister listened to several deputations who apprised him of their development needs seeking an early redressal of the same.

The demands put forth during the public meet included strengthening and up-gradation of road infrastructure, augmentation of water and power supply system and employment avenues for the youth of the region.

People also demanded establishment of a Degree College and Munsif court in Darhal, macadamization of interior roads and improvement of health facilities with provision of requisite staff in CHC Darhal. They also demanded reconstruction of tehsil office and community hall besides promotion of tourism in the area.

Deputations from Nadian and Bagh Mohalla sought Minister’s personal intervention in redressal of their issues  including construction of road from Nadian to Khaitan, Chittibatti to Darhal, connecting Plangarh-Khori Road with Bagh-Chittibatti Road, provisions of transformers and electric poles at Baghawali, Jamia Masjid, Khaitan and Bagh Ziarat and provision of drinking water in these areas.

The public also expressed gratitude to the Minister for bringing Government infrastructure at their doorsteps, considering their development needs and addressing their issues  on the spot.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister reiterated government’s commitment to ensure holistic development of the state with prioritized efforts for development of rural areas. He said the efforts are on to establish a high-class infrastructure vis-à-vis roads, healthcare, education and power sectors in these rural areas .

While highlighting the government’s initiatives for development of Darhal, the Minister said various road projects like Rs 33 Crore Darhal-Prori road and tourism projects like Rs 6.5 Crore Shakarmarg project are going to usher a new era of development in the area and will give a major fillip to employment avenues for the youth in tourism sector, given the vast tourism potential of the area. He said the road connectivity to Graiyad Mata will also boost religious tourism in the area.

The Minister directed the DDC to ensure that the work on Tehsil Office complex Darhal and Community Hall gets started within a week time. He also released Rs 12 lakh for completion of community hall and Rs. 30 Lakh for construction of road from Nadian to Khaitan.

He also directed the concerned to provide transformers to Baghwali, Jamia Masjid Khaitan and Bagh Ziarat. Executive Engineer PHE was directed to furnish a comprehensive plan for augmenting water supply to households of Nadian, Bagh, Jabbar, Khaitan and Simbli Villages.

DDC Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, SSP Yougal Manhas, ACD Noor Aalam, CEO RDA Dr. Tahir Firdous, executive engineers Sadeeq Wani, Nisar Khan, Munshi Khan, AD FCS & CAs Javaid Iqbal and other district officers accompanied the Minister.
