Srinagar: District Development Commissioner, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Monday chaired a District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting of Lead Bank Office Srinagar to review the progress of banks as on 30 September 2017.
The meeting reviewed the status of achievements by the banks in the area of implementation of government schemes like Pradhan Mantra Awas Yojana, National Urban Livelihood Mission and Stand-Up India.
The meeting also reviewed the performance of banks in the areas of deposits and advances besides reviewing sector-wise performance under the District Credit Plan 2017-18.
It was informed that the Credit Deposit Ratio (CDR) in the district as on quarter ending September 2017 stands at 51%.
The DDC expressed dismay over the progress made by the banks and financial institutions in the district during the said period. He emphasised that banks must be positive and instrumental in credit dispensation and increase the CDR to the benchmark level fixed by the RBI.
While reviewing the progress achieved in special central and state sponsored schemes under social security schemes, the DDC Srinagar noted that there is dismal achievement under the government sponsored schemes and directed the banks to expedite sanctioning of sponsorships received.
