CMD Dr M Ravi Kanth inaugurates HUDCO Bhawan in Jammu

Jammu: Chairman & Managing Director, Housing & Urban Development Corporation Ltd (HUDCO) Dr. M. Ravi Kanth, Monday inaugurated the HUDCO Bhawan at Railhead Complex, Jammu, to continue its mission of improving access to housing for all and providing sustainable infrastructure in human settlements besides improving the living conditions of people at large.

Vice-Chairman, JDA, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Managing Director, J&K Housing Board Dr. Manmohan Singh, Officers of SBI, Amanullah Tak, Joint Controller Communication Accounts, DoT and general public across all sections of society were also present on the occasion.

CMD HUDCO, in his address, assured full participation in various development activities in the State. He said since its inception in 1970, HUDCO has so far assisted 117 projects in Jammu & Kashmir with loan assistance of Rs 547 crore.

He informed that HUDCO, being one of the Central Nodal Agencies, for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY) – Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) has entered MoU with 69 banks in all over the country, including 04 banks of J&K State and so far released an amount of Rs 115 lakh of subsidy for CLSS.

CMD stressed the need for clearing the long pending default of J&K Co-operative Housing Corporation for further lending to the State of Jammu & Kashmir and he sought the co-operation of all the concerned in this regard.

CMD also appreciated the efforts of all the employees of Regional Office for successfully giving momentum to the developmental activities in Jammu & Kashmir.

Pertinently, the Regional Office of the Corporation has been operational at the present location since year 2000.

VC, JDA, speaking on the occasion, sought financial assistance of HUDCO for its upcoming beautification of Tawi River Front on the lines of Sabarmati River Front Project in Ahmedabad, wherein HUDCO funded the project for Gujarat GovernmentLater, the CMD inspected the location for Tawi Riverfront development Project along with JDA officials.

Song & Drama Division of Jammu Kendra presented cultural program highlighting patriotic songs, which was appreciated by one & all present.

Later, the CMD inspected the location for Tawi Riverfront development Project along with JDA officials.
