Shopian/Dec,19:Three youth were hit by bullets near the site of gunfight in Batmurran village of Shopian in south Kashmir on Tuesday.
A woman was killed and at least twenty others injured in the clashes that erupted early today morning in Batmurran village where forces had launched a search operation to look for third militant believed to be hiding in the debris of the house.
Two militants were killed in the nocturnal gunfight that began late last evening after forces launched a search operation on a tip-off.
Reports said that forces resorted to firing and teargas shells to disperse the protesters near the site of the gunfight.
In the gunfight, a woman, identified as Beauty Jan (24), wife of Manzoor Ahmad, was hit by a bullet in her abdomen during clashes. She was rushed to a hospital but died on the way.
Over twenty others were injured after being hit by pellets fired by the forces.
A health official at District Hospital Pulwama said that three youth had suffered bullet wounds. “They were referred to Srinagar from this facility,” he said
