Srinagar: An Assistant Executive Engineer given the charge of Executive Engineer for a centrally sponsored drinking water project worth Rs One crore has come under clouds on the process pursued in inviting tenders and deciding the location of the office of the project in Handwara instead of Srinagar the centrally local place for the intending bidders of all the districts of the valley.
Authoritative sources disclosed to Kashmir Horizon that the government for unknown reasons set up the office of a centrally sponsored drinking water project for geo tagging of all the water supply schemes of Kashmir and gave the charge of this project to Najibullah Trumboo an Assistant Executive Engineer instead to a senior Executive Engineer who could oversee the implementation of this prestigious drinking water project from an officer Srinagar. Sources said that the said Assistant Executive Engineer Najibullah Trumboo already facing trial in State Vigilance Organisation Kashmir clandestinely allotted this prestigious project to a blue eye contractor and irked by the violation of the normal a group IT Engineers called on Chief Engineer PHE Kashmir who allegedly refused to investigate the matter and contemplate action against the erring AEE Najeebullah Trumboo.
However when contacted Chief Engineer PHE Kashmir told Kashmir Horizon “ this all has happened before my joining. I will ascertain the facts and if need the project office will be closed in Handwara and moved to Srinagar”. Secretary PHE M Raju told Kashmir Horizon”I will ascertain the facts and see to it that the wrongs are rectified and action is taken against the guilty. PHE Minister Sham Lal Choudhry when contacted told Kashmir Horizon “ I am going to Srinagar on Monday and will call a meeting of officer to ascertain the facts. I will contemplate action against the wrongs if allegations are proved against any official”.
