Jammu: Director General, Accounts and Treasuries, Altaf Hassan Mirza Friday held an interactive session with the stakeholders to discuss the preparation for replacement of existing treasury system with modern Pay and Accounts Office (PAO) mechanism in the state.
Finance Directors of various departments and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
The DG apprised the participants of benefits of the new system which will further streamline the process of government payments thus giving a further push to development activities in the state besides keeping a check on corrupt practices. He said the Finance Ministry, which has proposed several radical reforms in the payment system of the state by switching over to PAO system, is taking all the stakeholders on board before the new system is rolled out.
The DG also presented a detailed power point presentation on the subject besides clearing various queries and observations of the participants about the proposed system.
