Jammu: In order to provide a platform to the youth of the state to discover their potential and explore different avenues pertaining to studies or career within and outside the country, Jammu & Kashmir State Skill Development Mission (JKSSDM) has established career counselling/placement cell at Jammu and Srinagar.

Aspirants can apply online for registration at www.jkssdm.org and based on the fulfilment of the fixed criteria, candidates will be invited for counselling sessions at these centres established within the office premises of JKSSDM.

JKSSDM has already appointed nodal officers who will be overseeing the activities of these centres. For enquiry and scheduling an appointment with the counsellors, aspirants can contact on 9018103786 & 7006321018.

Minister for IT, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports Molvi Imran Raza Ansari said our youth have huge potential to get enrolled in world class universities and get jobs in big corporate around the world, but all they lack is counselling, exposure and guidance. JKSSDM will now address this long pending demand of having career counselling centres and I am sure it will help in a great way to our youth to touch new heights, he added.

Counsellors will assist the candidates by providing them with various career options. This practice will ensure that applicants make informed decisions while they select a course or opt for job based on their interest and aptitude.

JKSSDM is planning to establish more such centres in other districts of the state and bringing in more expertise and scientific ways such as real-time sessions, webinars with experts & alumni etc.

Mission Director, JKSSDM Dr. Peer G N Suhail said that Career Counselling & Placement Cell (CCPC) will guide students who want to pursue higher education in local, national and international colleges and universities. We will also provide guidance about scholarships and the prescribed criteria such as TOEFL, IELTS, GRE etc. that is required for admission, he added.

CCPC will also provide information to the job aspirants about the jobs that are available within and outside India and the requisite skills and trainings required to get these jobs.”
