CS reviews progress of NABARD funded projects, Chairs 3rd HPC meeting

Jammu: Chief Secretary, B B Vyas Friday chaired the 3rd High Powered Committee (HPC) meeting-2017-18, to review the status of projects funded under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) of NABARD.

Principal Secretary Finance, Principal Secretary, Health & Medical Education, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Commissioner/ Secretary, PW(R&B), Commissioner/ Secretary, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Chief General Manager, NABARD, Secretary Horticulture and other senior officers participated in the meeting.

The Committee was informed that for the financial year 2017-18, under RIDF, a total outlay of Rs 445.11 Crore has been sanctioned for projects in R&B, PHE, I&FC, Health, Animal & Sheep Husbandry and Agriculture sectors.

It was informed that projects to the tune of Rs 200 crore have been submitted to NABARD for funding and projects of Rs 150 crore more will be submitted by 31st December, 2017.

Chief Secretary asked Chief Engineer PHE, Kashmir and Chief Engineer, PHE Jammu to submit project proposals worth Rs 100 Cr each for funding under NABARD, giving priority to integrated drinking water projects, Chief Minister’s commitments/directions and those prioritised by the Hon’ble Legislators.

Chief Secretary asked the concerned Administrative Secretaries to expedite expenditure in the ongoing projects and submit Utilization Certificates (UCs) and Project Completion Reports (PCRs), timely. He stressed upon the implementing agencies to take the works in a mission mode and expedite all projects to be completed during the year 2017-18. Administrative Secretaries were directed to review progress of NABARD funded projects regularly on monthly basis and share the progress with the Finance and Planning Departments.
