Director IIT Jammu calls on Guv

Jammu: Dr. Manoj Singh Gaur, Director, Indian Institute of Technology Jammu, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan .

Dr. Gaur informed Governor about the status of functioning of the IIT  transit Campus at Paloura, close to site of its upcoming permanent campus, at Jagti village in Nagrota; about the to-date status of admissions to various courses, staff strength and about certain administrative and academic issues facing the Institute.

Governor stressed the importance of maintaining high standards of teaching and research and suggested to Dr. Gaur to also include in the curricula a number of lectures on the country’s history, civilization, diversity, problems of poverty and unemployment, vital need for maintaining societal harmony and about the various flagship Central schemes which have important objectives.
