Right career guidance to pave way for successful future: Priya

Jammu: Minister of State for Education, Culture and Tourism, Priya Sethi Wednesday stresses on right career guidance for students which empowers them to embrace opportunities and paving the way towards a successful future.

The Minister was speaking during Career Planning Counselling Seminar for Students of 11th & 12th class organized by the Directorate of Libraries and Research, here Wednesday.

During the seminar, guidance sessions focusing on Preparation of NEET & JEE were held by IIT Toppers & Professionals from Mumbai & New Delhi.

Renowned career counselling experts including trained expert from Harvard, Prateek Bhargava, CEO MindlerPrikshitDhanta, SupriaDhanta, Anoop Pandey, CEO Plancess Hiren Shah, Vice President Plancess Ranjeet Gakhare and other counselling experts from national level shared their expertise on the occasion.

Addressing the students, the Minister said bright future of younger generation will not only results in a better society but also led to a prosperous nation.

“Enhancing student’s exposure to the diverse career outlooks, this is a great learning opportunity for the students that will guide them to make considered decisions based on their interests and strengths so they can contribute meaningfully to society through their future professions”, the Minister affirmed.

The wealth of experience this counselling team possesses will able to help the students to prepare them in finding more lucrative career options, the Minister added.

The Minister further said Wednesday’s job market scenario is changing rapidly and it is important for the students to be more adaptable and hardworking as these are the basic requirement for success. She said students should start making their career goals at an early stage to have a better knowledge about their career options.

The Minister exhorted upon the need of right guidance for students to transform their aspirations into reality and through counselling and other such activities they can explore their strengths and interests.

Government is designing strategic programs that can give wings to the dreams of future generation so that they can achieve new heights of success, the Minister maintained.

While lauding the efforts of Directorate of Libraries and Research in holding the career counselling sessions, the Minister calls for holding more such sessions spreading awareness regarding different aspects of career counselling.

Work on making libraries more vibrant is already under process, the Minister said while adding that the government is planning to make libraries a centre for career guidance as well.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Libraries and Research, J&K, Mukhtar-ul-Aziz said the department aims to help students in choosing right career and providing career counselling to train the youth of state to compete at national level.

An interactive session giving opportunity to the participatory students to clear their queries on career guidance was also held. Around 700 students from different districts of Jammu division attended this session along with their teachers and parents.

Deputy Director Libraries Jammu, RenuKumari besides senior officers the concerned departments were also present on the occasion.
