Dy CM asks students to be pioneers of social transformation

Kathua: Sant Bal Yogeshwar Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Dadwara, Billawar celebrated its Annual Day, here at Billawar Tuesday.

Dr Nirmal Singh, Deputy Chief Minister graced the occasion as chief guest whereas MLC, Pardip Sharma and Sant Bal Yogeshwar also participated.

The program commenced with a welcome address followed by presentation of annual report of the school activities by the Principal of the school. The students also presented a composite cultural program and theme based skits which enthralled the audience.

The Dy Chief Minister, while speaking on the occasion lauded the efforts of the school management for imparting quality education to the students and promoting co-curricular activities in this remote part of the State. He stressed on shaping the holistic personality of the future generation that holds peace, goodwill, brotherhood and humanity above everything. He also called for inculcating the moral education to the students, which is the basic need for the overall development of the child.

Highlighting the achievements of the present dispensation, the Dy Chief Minister said no stone will be left unturned to make Billawar a model constituency by developing and upgrading all basic amenities for the people. He said the Billawar area remained neglected during the previous regimes and the development was just on papers, but the present dispensation believes on practical change on ground and people can judge the difference themselves.

Dr Singh sought cooperation from all sections of the society in the development process and urged the people to come forward and help the administration to upgrade all important sectors. He said road and education are the main sectors which are key to the development and Government is paying focused attention to improve these two vital sectors.

The Dy Chief Minister also distributed prizes among the meritorious students and mementos to the guests on the occasion.

ADC Billawar, Joginder Singh Rai; SDPO, Tehsildar, Principal, management and staff of the school besides prominent citizens and students in large numbers were present during annual day celebration.
