Srinagar/Dec,2: Leader of the main opposition National Conference and former chief minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday congratulated chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on being re-elected as the president of the Peoples Democratic Party.
“Congratulations to @MehboobaMufti on being re-elected as President of @jkpdp.”We may not agree on much these days but I wish you well,” Omar said in his tweet.
Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was re-elected as the president of her Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the record sixth consecutive time.
PDP’s Electoral College met in winter capital of Jammu today, where Mehbooba was ‘unanimously’ elected as head of the party.
“The election for the post of the PDP president was held today where she was elected unopposed,” said a party leader.
The PDP was headed and founded by late Mufti Mohammed Sayeed in 1999.
