Srinagar: Clashes erupted in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district after youth part of Milad procession pelted stones on Government Forces after Friday congregational prayers.
Reports said that a Milad procession was taken out from Eidgah in the district that was led by Mirwaiz South Kashmir Qazi Yasir.
Eyewitnesses said that as the procession passed through Achabal Ada, a large number of youth pleted stones on the deployed forces, who retaliated with tear-smoke shelling.
The clashes continued for hours while a couple of protesters suffered injuries.
Meanwhile, youth during a Milad procession in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district displayed banners carrying photographs of militants and shouted slogans in favour of militant commander Zakir Musa.
Witnesses said that police didn’t intervene while the procession culminated peacefully.
