Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on Thursday staged a sit-in in Nowhatta area of Downtown Srinagar against attacks on Kashmiri prisoners in Tihar and Kathua jails.
Scores of protests of Hurriyat (G), Hurriyat (M) and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) staged a protest outside Jamia Masjid to protest the attacks.
The protesters were demanding the shifting of Kashmiri prisoners in Tihar and Kathua jails to the Valley.
As many as 18 Kashmiri prisoners, including the son of Hizb commander Salahuddin were thrashed by security staff inside Delhi’s Tihar jail on Nov 21, prompting chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti, to publicly express her concern.
