Veeri inspects construction sites for Community Hall in Samba

Samba: Minister for Revenue, Disaster Management, Relief Rehabilitation & Reconstruction and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri Wednesday visited district Samba to inspect the proposed sites for construction of Community Hall in the district.

Pertinently, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, while responding to the demand of people of the district, had assured them for construction of a community hall in the district.

The Minister was accompanied by MLA Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, Deputy Commissioner Sheetal Nanda, Custodian General Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, Custodian E P Jammu Mushtaq Hussain Malik, ADC, Tilak Raj Sharma and other concerned officers.

The Minister visited the proposed site for construction of the hall at Nanak-e-Chak and took stock of viability and feasibility of the project in the area. He was informed that Evacuee Property land measuring around 15 kanal is in the possession of the department and can be utilized for construction of a Banquet Hall for benefit of the locals.

Deputy Commissioner apprised the Minister about the already proposed project for construction of Heritage Complex-Marriage Hall and a restaurant at the site.

While seeking details of the proposed project, the Minister asked the concerned officers to preserve the existing pond besides taking care of other natural assets surrounding the proposed site if the land is finalized for construction of the utility.

Later, the Minister visited the other proposed site located at Mandi Bhadwani in Samba city and was informed that the land was previously under the occupation of Education Department and now after shifting of the school to some other location, the structure along with the connected land measuring around 4 kanal and 4 marla is under the possession of the Evacuee Property department which also can be utilized for the project.

After inspecting the sites, the Minister asked the Deputy Commissioner to prepare a detailed report on this site including total land available besides assessing the feasibility of the project in the area.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said it is the commitment of Chief Minister with the people of the district to construct a Community Hall cum Banquet Hall for their benefit and our priority is to fulfill the assurance within the shortest possible time.

Veeri said the government is prioritizing raising of social properties like Community Halls, Marriage Halls, public utilities etc which can benefit a large section of society. He said the department is trying to make best use of the vacant land in possession of the department for raising viable assets for generation of handsome income and benefit of people of the state.

The Minister, while interacting with the locals, assured them that soon the site will be finalized and construction work for the Community Hall would be commenced at the earliest.
