Pulwama: Amid chill, government forces launched nocturnal Cordon and Search operations in two villages of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
The search operation according to sources was conducted at New Colony Kakapora and Kussipora village by 55 and 50 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army and Special Operation Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
An official informed that New Colony Kakapora area was brought under cordon on Tuesday night at 12 and  the operation was called off at around 3 in the morning after no contact with any militant was established.
Siege was laid around Kussipora village at 3 in the morning and it was lifted at around 10 am. “Door-to-door searches were conducted during the operation that concluded peacefully,” said an official.
Meanwhile, locals from both these villages alleged that they were forces to spend chilly moments under open sky during night hours.
