Hajin: Clashes broke out in Hajin area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district after government forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation on Monday afternoon.
Sources said that operation was launched after Government Forces including 13 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army, 42 Battalion CRPF and SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police received information about the presence of  a group of militants in Bon-Mohalla area of Hajin town.
Locals informed that a large number of youth took to roads and started pelting stones on the government forces, who responded with tear-smoke shelling.
Reports said that during the clashes a woman was injured after she was hit by pellets in both her legs. “She was shifted to Community Health Centre Hajin for treatment,” said an official.
Locals said that at least three persons were wounded during the clashes.
Reports added that two to three militants were believed to be present in the area, however as per an official no contact with militants was established.
Sources said that operation was called off after door-to-door search operation.
