Rajouri: Murder accused escapes, ASI among three policemen suspended

Srinagar: Three policemen, including an Assistant Sub-Inspector, were  suspended after a murder accused escaped from their custody in Rajouri district of Jammu province on Saturday.
Reports said that Mohammad Riaz gave slip to policemen when he was being taken to District Jail Dhangri following a hearing at the Sessions Court in Rajouri.
Riaz, they said, has been accused of murder in a case FIR 102/2016 U/S 302 RPC and other sections.
Sources said that a major manhunt has been launched to trace the accused and security arrangements have been beefed up across the district.
Meanwhile, District Police authorities said that an Assistant Sub Inspector and two other cops have been suspended and a FIR has been registered against them. SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas said that a case FIR 522/2017 u/s 223/224 RPC has been registered in Rajouri police station against the police party comprising ASI Din Mohammad, SgCt Ghulam Mustafa and HC Mohd Safoor.
