Jammu: On the second leg of his four-day visit to the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Centre’s Special Representative Dineshwar Sharma on Saturday visited Talwara area of Reasi and met migrant Kashmiri Pandits there and is likely to visit Pulwama today.
Sharma on his return from Reasi to Jammu met a number of delegates.
“During his visit to Reasi, Sharma interacted with the militancy-hit families of Jammu region putting up in the migrant camps,” official sources here said.
They said he listened to the issues of the Talwara migrants and took stock of the amenities available at the site.
“Sharma also issues some directions on the spot after listening to the victims,” sources said and added that he also asked the administration authorities to upgrade government schools and basic facilities.
On his return here in the afternoon, Mr Sharma met different organisations.
He has to meet around 30 delegations, said an official.
Before leaving for Kashmir Valley on Sunday, Mr Sharma will meet border dwellers along the Line of Control and International Border in Jammu region.
Mr Sharma on Friday called on the Chief Minister and Governor N N Vohra in Jammu and discussed various issues on the current scenario of the state and the recent confidence building measures taken by the Centre for the state.
He also visited Jagti Migrant Township in Nagrota in the outskirts of city and met with the Kashmiri Pandit migrant bodies.
Meanwhile sources said Sharma is likely to visit South Kashmi’s Pulwama district today(Sunday). He is expected arrive in Kashmir today (Sunday). Sources said that he will visit Pulwama and will have interactions with the mainstream party leaders at Guest House.
Security has been beefed in South Kashmir ahead of his visit.
If sources are to be believed, workers and leaders are keen to meet the interlocutor. Sources said that political workers from People’s Democratic Party and other parties will interact with Sharma. ‘There are minimal chances about the interlocutors meeting with common people’, sources added .
It is the second visit of Dineshwar Sharma to State. Yesterday, he met Chief Minister, Governor and some Kashmiri Pandit groups in Jammu.
