Bullet riddled body of soldier recovered from Shopian

Shopian: Police on Saturday recovered a bullet riddled body a local in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
The deceased whom police identified as Muhammad Irfan Dar of Sanzan village was a soldier in Indian Army presently post in Gurez area North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
His bullet hit body was found near Wothmula Nad area of Keegam, said a police official.
The official added that prima facie it seems the soldier was first abducted and then put to death by suspected militants.
Both Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah condemned the killing of army soldier.
Mehbooba took to Twitter and strongly condemned the killing of a soldier saying that such acts will not weaken the resolve to establish peace in Valley.
“Strongly condemn the brutal killing of Irfan Ahmed, a brave Territorial Army soldier at Shopian. Such heinous acts will not weaken our resolve to establish peace and normalcy in the valley,” Mehbooba wrote on Twitter. An official statement issued later in the day quoted Mehbooba Mufti as strongly condemning the killing of Irfan Ahmad.The Chief Minister, according to the official statement, said it is very unfortunate that such acts of unending violence have been taking a heavy toll of younger generation which is the future hope of our society.
Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh has also condemned the killing of Irfan Ahmad, a young Kashmiri Territorial Army jawan from Sezan Keegam, who was found killed Saturady in Shopian.
While terming the incident as unfortunate and a crime against humanity, Dr Singh said the prepators of these types of heinous crimes are to be isolated and taught a befitting lesson as they are working against basic tenants of every religion. He said it needs to be condemned  by every section of the society.
Dr Singh further  conveyed  heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed  for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah termed as tragic and reprehensible the killing of an army man in Shopian district of south Kashmir.
“The murder of young Irfan Dar is a very tragic & reprehensible act. My unqualified condemnation & heartfelt condolences to his family,” tweeted Abdullah.
