Srinagar: Hurriyat (G) on Friday staged a protest in Hyderpora area of Srinagar against the “inhuman treatment” of Kashmiri detainees in and outside the jails of Jammu and Kashmir.
Scores of leaders of the amalgam assembled in Hyderpora after Friday prayers and impressed upon the human rights organisations to use their good office for securing the immediate release of these detainees.
They said that the prisoners were facing immense hardships as proper medical treatment was denied to them.
Referring to falling heath of Shabir Ahmad Shah, Peer Saifullah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Raja Meraj u Din Kalwal, Ayaz Akbar, Shahid ul Islam, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Farooq Ahmad Dar, a Hurriyat (G) leader said that Saifullah has been diagnosed for brain tumour.
“His condition is deteriorating with every passing day,” he said.
