Srinagar: The parents of a Pulwama youth who has joined militancy last month on Thursday appealed him to return home. The appeal came days after footballer-turned-militant Majid Khan heeded to his parents’ call and returned home.
The family of Adil Ahmad Bhat (21) travelled nearly 40 kilometres from their home in Malangpora Pulwama to Press Enclave in Srinagar to make the appeal. The family said that Adil Ahmad Bhatwent missing on October 7.
“We lodged a police complaint in Pulwama but could not trace him. Later, we came to know through social media that he had joined militant outfit Hizb ul Mujahideen”, Haseena, mother of Adil told reporters at Press Enclave.
Haseena and her husband, Bilal Ahmad Bhat, who works in police department, made an emotional appeal to their son to return home. Lashkar-e-Toiba militant Majid Khan, it needs to be mentioned, gave himself up to the army in Anantnag last week following a fervent appeal by his parents.
Lashkar, in a statement, later said that Khan was allowed to be with his family because of his mother’s appeal.
