Srinagar: Syed Ali Geelani expressed his serious concern over the deteriorating condition of senior resistance leader Shabir Ahmad Shah in Tihar Jail, saying he is suffering from multiple ailments, however he is not being provided with specific treatment. Geelani said that incarcerated leader is being subjected to political vendetta.
Syed Ali Geelani said that those languishing in Tihar, including Altaf Ahmed Shah, Peer Saifullah, Ayaz Akbar, Raja Meraj-u-Din Kalwal, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Nayem Ahmad Khan, Zahoor Ahmed Watali, Kamran Yousuf, Shahid Yusuf and others are meted out with ill treatment and in absence of proper medical care are facing immense hardships and despite their falling health no medical treatment or care is provided to them.
Syed Ali Geelani in his appeal to Amnesty International, Asia Watch, and other international organisation for human rights and impressed to break their salience and take cognizance of the plight of these detainees and use influence for their immediate release.
Appealing all those kind-hearted people in India for their human approach, Syed Ali Geelani impressed to use their influence for immediate release of all detainees, pursuing right to self-determination and implicated on fabricated charges.
Condemning the continuous house arrest of THK General secretary Mohd Ashraf Sehrai, Gh Ahmad Gulzar (Spokesman) and Mohd Ashraf Laya Spokesman said state authorities are following policy of revenge against the resistance leaders, thus creating an atmosphere of anarchy and pushing people to wall. It is the deliberate policy of the government to keep resistance leadership away from people, spokesman added.
