Jammu: As a part of the department-wise pre-budget discussions, the Principal Secretary Finance, Navin Kumar Choudhary Monday discussed the budget proposals of the Power Development, Education, Youth Services & Sports and Technical Education Departments with the concerned officers.
Principal Secretary Higher Education, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, Commissioner Secretary, Power Development Department Hirdesh Kumar, Secretary Education, Farooq Ahmad Shah, Secretary Technical Education, Hilal Ahmad Parray, Director Youth Services & Sports, Sheikh Fayaz, Director Technical Education, Shabnam Kamili, Director Budget Imtiyaz Ahmad and other senior officers of the PDD, Education, Technical Education and Finance Departments were present at the meeting.
The Principal Secretary Finance started department-wise budget discussions here on November 7 in run up to the formulation of the State Budget 2018-19.
Speaking at the meeting the Principal Secretary Finance asked these Departments to ensure judicious and productive use of funds for developmental and other welfare initiatives.
Pertinently, the State Government has started presenting the budget in advance in the month of January to ensure timely release of resources for the developmental initiatives in the State.
