Tourism Deptt showcases Kashmir’s hospitality at Visakhapatnam

Jammu: The department of tourism J&K participated in the 8th Convention of Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI) at Visakhapatnam to promote J&K as a preferred tourist destination.

The 3-day annual Convention was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu on November 17, 2017 in presence of Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya Reddy, top bureaucrats and a galaxy of tourism personalities of the country.

The theme of the convention is “Explore India – One Country, Many Worlds.” The business sessions will focus on new ideas, the MICE industry, weddings, and infrastructure growth.

Deputy Director Tourism Kashmir Waseem Raja led the team of J&K tourism including leading tour operators from all the three regions of the state.

Waseem Raja gave the presentation on J&K tourism by screening recently launched 5-minute film “Warmth Place on Earth” produced on the theme of Kashmir hospitality and other videos on tourism which mesmerized audience drawn from different parts of the country and other countries.

Waseem Raja also took part in the panel discussion describing the social causes undertaken by the tourism stake holders and bigger hotel chains by taking care of natural resources and extending social support to local villagers at certain levels and locations.

Director Tourism Kashmir Mahmood A Shah said participation of the department in the travel marts, road shows and annual conventions at national level helps promote tourism at the right platform where hundreds of the leading tour operators from across the country and other countries participate.

Notably, ADTOI convention is one of the largest conventions of tour travel operators in the country.

Over 300 tour and travels operators from different states participated in the convention.

Those who attended the Convention besides Chairman PILTOF Nasir Shah are Mir Anwar President TASK, Zahoor Qari incoming TAAI Chairman, Showkat Pakhtoon, Secretary General PILTOF, Noor Shangloo Treasurer JKTA, Ather Yameen Secretary General TASK, Haseeb Khan, Inder Pal Singh, Jammu Chapter Chairman of PILTOF, Sonam Wangchuk LADAKH Chapter Chairman of PILTOF.
