Geelani hails Pakistan for introducing resolution in UNGA

Srinagar: Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani on Sunday while hailing the endure and sincere steps taken by Pakistan establishment for introducing the resolution in UN General Assembly, said that Maliha Lodhi has rightly placed the issue keeping in view its historical background.
According to the statement issued to KNS, Geelani said, “We are facing extreme situation since past 71 years and it is the sincere efforts that after 39 years of strenuous efforts Pakistan succeeded to introduce resolution in UNGA. World community has turned their blind eyes to our agonies and miseries, and added that our screams and wailing go unnoticed.”
Hailing Pakistan ambassador for her stance, Geelani said all member countries including India is aware about the historical evidences and aspects of Kashmir issue, saying it was India that took the case to the UNO, said Geelani and added that eighteen resolutions were passed that People of Jammu Kashmir will be given the opportunity to exercise their right to self-determination and the United Nations Security Council stands guarantees for the right to self-determination to the Kashmiri people, however miserably failed to implement its resolutions ,he added .
While pursuing their right to self-determination and for their genuine rights the people of state presented six lakh precious souls to achieve their democratic right and added that until this institution performs its duties as expected, Kashmiris will continue to suffer due to this forced occupation.
Blaming India for its heartless and haughty approach, Geelani said Indian authorities are employing their military might to supress our genuine aspirations and added that it is their military might, coercion and suppressive measures, that has prolonged this forced slavery.
Haling Pakistan authorities for their sincere and justified approach and steps, Geelani said this country continues to support us despite facing multiple challenges and issues.
It is encouraging and we feel delighted that world body has acknowledged and accepted the Pakistan sponsored resolution, saying that it will send a good message and feeling to all subjugated nations.
Geelani said that if all the freedom and justice-loving countries would support the legitimate struggle of the supressed nations, the world will turn into a real heaven and a peaceful place for all people to live.
Meanwhile, Geelani while paying his heartfelt tributes to youth slain in Hajin encounter, said that these youths lay their lives to end the age-old slavery of their nation, and added they are laying heavy responsibility on our shoulders to carry their mission till its logical end.
Geelani blamed India for its rigid and stubborn approach and said that their insensitivity and unconcern is the sole reason for this unabated bloodshed and pushing our youth to wall. They mercilessly are killing our youth and on one pretext or the other and with their brute force are pushing youth to wall.
Referring to Kashmir issue, Geelani said that it is a political and humane issue and as such military might or coercive measures won’t solve this.
All our fundamental rights are being curbed and our peaceful activities are being denied said Geelani, saying that youth for this reason are taking extreme steps. (KNS)
