Baramulla: Rampora, Baramulla. Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Paribal Tekri (under the aegis of Watlab Sector) has installed Solar Micro Power Grid in the remote village of Rampora, which has resulted in ending of electricity woes in Bhat Mohalla of that Village.
Rampora is one the remotest villages of Baramulla District and the State provided electricity is generally available from 3 to 4 hours only, everyday. Seeing the problems faced by the villagers, Army established the Solar Micro Power Grid to provide better quality of life to the villagers. The micro grid will provide electricity to 10 houses for upto eight hours everyday and can be expanded further.
The project was inaugurated by Commander Watlab Sector, Saturday, wherein he also interacted with the villagers.
The project is self-sustaining and has been implemented in a manner that the villagers themselves will be maintaining it. The villagers thanked the Army for the excellent initiative and furthermore applauded the concern shown by the Army in uplifting the living conditions of the villagers. This initiative marks the success of yet another gesture aimed at harmonious integration of the Awaam and Jawan.
