Jammu: Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta Friday convened a public grievances redress camp at Akali Koul Singh Nagar in Digiana and took stock of public grievances besides assessing development scenario in the area.
During the camp, the people projected various issues related to welfare and development of their respective areas seeking an early redresal to the same.
The issues raised by the people included improvement in several main and link roads, blacktopping, sanitation and surface clearance of drains, community bathrooms, toilets and clearance of garbage from Digiana canal etcetra.
While responding to public issues, the Speaker said deep drain has been sanctioned for Digiana Puli canal and the work on it will start soon. He added that efforts are being made to ensure that all the main and link roads are blacktopped within shortest possible time. He asked the officers to put in hard efforts to ensure that all pending works are completed within the given timeline.
Elucidating government’s initiatives envisaging improvement in basic amenities in every part of the state, the Speaker reiterated that government is committed to provide enhanced services to the public in a phased manner. He also appealed the people to work collectively in development process of their respective areas so that the government schemes are implemented effectively.
