GCW Parade holds symposium on “Radioactivity and Human Sustainability”

Jammu: Government College for Women Parade, Department of Chemistry, Thursday organized a symposium on “Radioactivity and Human Sustainability” to commemorate Sesquicentennial birth anniversary of Madam Marie Curie, a pioneer researcher in the field of radioactivity.

The symposium was inaugurated by Dr Hemla Aggarwal, Principal of the college.

Dr Avinash K. Gupta, Head Department of Chemistry highlighted the objectives of the symposium.

The jury, comprising Prof. Hans Raj of Department of Physics, Prof. Rakesh Malhotra of Chemistry and Dr Pragya Khanna of Department of Zoology, adjudged Riya Malhotra of Semester I as the first, Kavita of Semester I as 2nd and Aditi Singhaal of Semester IIIrd as the 3rd winner.

Among others present were faculty members of Chemistry department including Dr S.K Bhat, Dr Yash Paul, Dr Satinder K. Juneja, Dr Sapna Sharma, Dr Gurpreet Kour, Dr Balwinder Saini, Prof. Faheem Rasool and Prof. Himanshu Khajuria besides Dr Seema Kotwal, Dr NeeralGupta, Prof. Ghanjit Singh, Prof. Vipul Saraf and Prof. Slony Gupta. Dr Puja Nanda of department of Chemistry presented vote of thanks.
